Raw Food Lifestyle For Healthy Living

David Wolfe’s philosophy is that fruit is the best food on the planet.  He lives the raw food lifestyle every day, following the fruitarian diet and “Longevity Now” program, and to sum it up in his own words he says, “The raw-food/fruitarian diet makes you beautiful and pure inside and out. It leads to the clearest use of your mind - it greatly enhances your mental abilities.”

In the book he explains that every kind of fruit has it’s own special secret advantage for our bodies.  Some are the experts at cleaning our bodies out, others are designed to give us energy and endurance and still others are excellent at warming you up in cold weather.

Apparently there are certain guidelines we should follow when eating fruit. Something I would ever have guessed!  Ideally we should only eat one kind of fruit at a time and then wait 45 minutes before we eat another kind.  That was news to me!  The reason for this being that if you are only eating one fruit at a time, your body is then able to communicate to you very easily when you have had enough to eat.  It’s when you mix foods that the signal becomes less clear and hence there is a tendency to possibly overeat.  So if overeating is a problem that you struggle with, then it would be easier to avoid this if you stuck to one kind of food at a time, so you can clearly hear your body when it gives you the “I’m full” signal.

Many fruits on earth are sweet fruits, but something we must not overlook are all the other not so sweet ones, they are just as important to include in a fruitarian diet.  For example, avocados, cucumbers, peppers, tomatoes, cranberries, squash, lemons, limes, corn, okra, and zucchini.

These foods are important because they provide heavier minerals and are gentle on the body. Ideally, they should make up at least 50% of your daily diet.

David Wolfe, as a raw-foodist/fruitarian believes we should eat from 3 classes of foods.  They are…

  • Fruits
  • Green-leafed vegetables
  • And fatty foods - avocados, nuts, seeds, coconuts, bananas, durians, and dried olives

He believes that these 3 classes of foods are the real essentials of the human diet.  If we go without one of these classes of foods for too long a period of time, then problems may arise - your body will signal you to eat from whatever class of food is missing through a primal instinctive desire.

Combined with his newly created “Longevity Now” program David Wolfe religiously follws his fruitarian diet  on a daily basis to attain optimal health and longevity.  If you would like to find out more about raw food nutrition then you can check out his book at the link below…
